New Entrants for September 2025
Welcome to Year R (EYFS)
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are delighted that you are considering Copnor Primary School for your child to join our school in September 2025. Starting school can be an anxious time for everyone and we would like to make the start as easy as possible. We carefully plan the induction programme for our new EYFS children to reflect current best practice and to ensure the whole process is as smooth as possible for every family.
We are keen to reflect the needs of each child and family within an effective induction programme. Our priority is to plan opportunities to establish the strong relationships between home and school that are so important within primary education, through getting to know each child as an individual. In order to support you with your decision-making process we are running a series of open sessions for you to come in and hear what we as a school offer.
The sessions involve an introduction to the School Team and presentation followed by a tour of our lovely school. These sessions last about an hour and you are welcome to bring your child.

Preparing for School
Steps-to-Starting School
Ready for School
We have three fundamental principles which we believe are key:
Knowing every child
Highlights our mission to get to know each and every child in our school.
Inspiring Every Mind
Underpins our aspiration to provide great lessons and memorable experiences for our children during a crucial period of learning which lays the foundations for their later lives. This requires fantastic teaching at every level and includes the robust leadership of adults in the school to achieve this aim.
Achieving Every Day
Our ambition that each and every child (and adult) can look back at their day, month, year and time at Copnor and feel confident that their time here has led to a sense that they have achieved something they can be proud of. This could be academic achievement or pastoral achievement, but either way, it would be something we can recognise and celebrate when appropriate.
