STEM
British Science Week (13th – 17 March 2023)
Nearly all innovations in science, technology, engineering and maths are built on connections between people; two (or more) heads are better than one, after all! But as well as exploring the importance and joy in connections between individual scientists, research groups and institutions, pupils will discover the different ways connections appear across all areas of science.
As we celebrate togetherness, after a period where isolation was a sad but necessary reality, ‘Connections’ is an apt theme for British Science Week 2023, and at Copnor Primary School, we are dedicating the week to STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). As well as this, we will be celebrating a range of individuals who have contributed to these areas of work and challenging long-standing stereotypes to encourage more young people, from all backgrounds, to see themselves as scientists. A select number of Year 5 pupils will also be attending UTC to work alongside others in the city on an array of STEM-based activities.
