Computing at Copnor Primary
Computing is the new name for ICT.
The subject has moved towards learning to program and control devices. This is now called Computer Science.
Children will still learn to use applications such as word processors and presentation tools. This is now called digital literacy.
If children would like to develop their programming skills at home they can download our main programming tool Scratch from https://scratch.mit.edu/parents/ This is also where parents can find out more about the world of coding for children.
Children will start to learn about control and writing algorithms using BeeBots (reception and Year 1) and Bluebots (Year 2)
